| CRW 6116 | You may - or may not - have heard of the the "Hanging Coffins." Nobody knows how or why the the Ba people buried their dead in coffins that were placed hundreds of feet above the present water level in the shear sides of the cliffs. Unfortunately, some of them were flooded by the rising water, and at least one floated down the Yangtze until it was recovered and placed in a museum. | |
