  IMG_6919.JPG - For our last night in China, we attended the Beijing Opera. Here is one of the performers applying his own makeup. Chinese opera is different from western opera in many respects. The Chinese version relies on acting, acrobatics and facial expressions to move the plot. The singing is high-pitched to cut through noise and sounds off-key to our western ears.
