CRW 5674 | We left the silk rug emporium, got on the bus with our tasty box lunch and headed for the airport to catch our 1 hour flight to Wuhan, where we would get on the ship for the Yangtze River cruise. Once in Wuhan, we attended a performance of the Bells of Wuhan. The bells shown here are replicas of the original, 2400 year-old bells from the Warring States Period. Because of their value, the original bells are not played, but are on exhibit in the museum. They played a very nice version of "Ode To Joy," among more traditional Chinese music. (The Warring States Period is from 476 B.C. to the unification of China by the Qin Dynasty in 221 B.C.) | ![]() |
